Dia Daoibh, or Hello Everyone

"Ireland: a small country with a big reputation, helped along by a timeless, age-caressed landscape and a fascinating, friendly people..."  -Lonely Planet

"You probably won't find the proverbial pot of gold in Ireland, but you will find plenty of treasure, starting with the engaging and feisty Irish people."- Rick Steves, travel guru

"From its fascinating history and friendly people to its stunningly beautiful landscapes, Ireland has it all." -Ireland for Dummies

Green. Damp. Steeped in history. My grandmothers homeland. Seemingly everyone has a grandmother from Ireland. The Emerald Isle has a total population around 6.4 million, but it is estimated that there are more than 100 million people world wide who claim Irish heritage. Famous for Guinness, Jameson, and potatoes. Ireland also has a rich history of music and story telling centered around the local pub. It is an ancient land, weathered by storms and wars.

Tickets purchased. Bags packed. Umbrellas at the ready. Eager Americans are we. Anxious to pull on our fleece, discover our heritage, drive across the Island (in a manual no less) and befriend the locals. Stayed tuned for our adventures, for there will be many.
